Ready to experience the thrilling rhythms? I hope so, because in this blog I have to tell you about band Jungle, the true master of evoking a dancing mood.
This British electronic music project was created in 2013 by London-based musicians Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, who were inspired by the Nu Disco and Funk sounds. Their first single “Busy Earnin'”, released a year later, quickly gained recognition from both listeners and critics. The track was initially featured on the project's debut album “Jungle” and received a nomination for the prestigious British award, the Mercury Prize. Later, it became the official soundtrack of the popular video games FIFA 15 and Forza Horizon 2.
In 2018, Jungle released another album “For Ever”, which has even more R&B and Neo-Soul influences. Music reviewers gave the record positive reviews. The project also delved into new musical genres, pushing the boundaries of electronic music. The album's best hit “Casio” is still relevant today.
In 2021, Jungle released their third studio album "Loving in Stereo". The group released the album through their own independent platform, eschewing large-scale marketing campaigns. In September, Jungle went on a world tour. Concurrently, they collaborated with Diplo and Damian Lazarus on the track "Don't Be Afraid".
Jungle's most recent studio album, "Volcano," which was published in 2023, includes songs that were written in collaboration with Erick the Architect, Channel Tres, and Bas. Following in the footsteps of “Loving in Stereo”, Jungle proceeded to develop their sound, however with an even more lavish tone and feel.
A special note should be given to the group's video clips' aesthetics, which feature amazing choreography that is expertly paired with the music. In today's diversified music industry, this further engages the audience and makes Jungle visually different and memorable for a wider audience.
Notable is also the fact that the group regularly works with virtuoso choreographer Shay Latukolan. Jungle's music videos, which Latukolan frequently uses the same dancers in, create a feeling of familial unity between the dancers and the band's musicians. While it's disappointing that Shay and his group won't be travelling with the band, Jungle's musicians consider that the music should be the only thing on stage.
Since the begining, the group has been actively gigging world-famous festivals and concert halls, and this year, Georgia and Black Sea Arena will not be an exception. So mark August 18 in your calendar and don't miss the chance to be part of the great show.
