Very soon, on May 31, the legendary Scorpions will return to Georgia and share their 60-year history of music. However, before we take part in this impressive event, let's remember how one of the most successful and rebellious bands in the history of rock went from the small stage of an ordinary German town to the triumphant peak of world rock music...
The year 1965 will forever go down in the history of rock music, for it was at this time that the Scorpions were formed in the German city of Hanover, The Doors across the Atlantic and Pink Floyd in foggy Albion. Soon these bands would achieve great success and each of them would become a source of inspiration for many young musicians, but only Scorpions would stand the test of time, and even after 60 years would charm listeners of all ages and tastes with their sound.
Scorpions' work undoubtedly transcends language and culture. Proof of this is the more than 120 million albums sold worldwide and over 5,000 impressive live performances that have written many pages in the history of rock music.
The most famous German rock band of all time with their immortal hits and ballads “Wind of Change”, “Rock You Like a Hurricane”, “Still Loving You”, “Send Me an Angel”, “Big City Nights” and many others, raised many generations of music lovers and the public loved not only this band, but rock music in general. It is also worth noting that the band's songs had a great influence on the work of rock bands of the 80s, including: Guns N' Roses, Metallica and many others. Green Day, Korn, System Of A Down and other popular bands have repeatedly performed covers of Scorpions' compositions. There are over 150 covers of “Rock You Like A Hurricane” alone.
The main characteristic of Scorpions' music is the art of the perfect combination of hard rock, metal and melodic ballads, evoking strong emotions and adrenaline-filled excitement in the listener. Although the band has never changed its basic musical lineage, its work is full of experimentation. Over the years, the Scorpions' repertoire has included orchestral arrangements, acoustic instruments and synthesizers. Music critics agree that it is thanks to these bold steps that the band remains popular in the 21st century among young listeners.
It is impossible not to be amazed by the impressive vocals of Klaus Meine, the virtuoso performances of Rudolf Schenker, Matthias Jabs, and Pawel Maciwoda and the powerful percussion of Mickey Dee. The band members always know what listeners expect from them, so on May 31 on the Black Sea Arena stage we are guaranteed to hear hits that have never lost their relevance and have stood the main test - the test of time!
In short, we are in for an emotional evening full of impressions. So #followthestars and be ready to share 60 years of real rock history.
