The vast blue sea, sunny beach and  pine forest attract many visitors to the resort areas of Georgia every year.

One of these is a resort in Shekvetili, Guria, in Ozurgeti municipality, on the shore of the Black Sea, 2 meters above sea level. Where the largest concert hall in Transcaucasia, Black Sea Arena, is located. 

Brief history of Shekvetili : Shekvetili was one of the most important trade points of Western Georgia in the 18th century. Since 1723, the garrison of the Ottoman Empire was stationed in the Shekvetili fortress. Since 1812, Shekvetili has been under the administration of the Russian Empire, and after Shekvetili fortess the border of the Ottoman Empire began. During the Crimean War, on October 15 1853,  St. Nicholas fortress was invaded by the Turkish army, but Russia still managed to keep hold of the fortress. However, it was later demolished in the 1920s, and a factory was built with its stones in Kvemo Natanebi. 

Today, Shekvetili is one of the most infrastructurally sound and popular resorts on the Black Sea coast since concert hall Black Sea Arena, Musicians Park, Park of Miniatures, Amusement Park Tsitsinatela and Dendrological Park are located here.

Black Sea Arena is the largest concert hall and multifunctional space in Georgia. The construction of the hall started in 2008 due to the initiative of Cartu Foundation and was officially opened for the public, with Christina Aguilera’s concert in 2016.

Since then, during the seven years of its existence, the stage of Black Sea Arena has hosted events of such large-scale artists as: Aerosmith, The Scorpions, Elton John, Robert Plant, Ennio Morricone, Black Eyed Peas, Jessie J and Thirty Seconds to Mars...

Next to Black Sea Arena, you will find Musicians Park - with eucalyptus-scented paths and various interactive zones, which are visited by up to 70,000 visitors per season. Musicians Park is distinguished by the fact that sculptures of famous musicians and composers are located here, and their songs can be heard when approaching them. Here you will also find wood carvings, which were created from trees in the park that were damaged over the years.

After walking through the Eucalyptus field, you will find yourself in a magical environment that once again emphasizes the harmonious coexistence of people and nature - This is The Social Space, a place for whom discoveries never end.
